The Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art (Director Lee Ae-seon) has started accepting applications for renting out the exhibition spaces at the Seoul Branch of the Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art and the exhibition hall at the Jeonbuk Provincial Government Office in 2026 to support the creative activities of local artists and broaden the horizon of Jeonbuk art.

The Seoul Branch of the Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art, located near Sogyeok-dong in Jongno-gu, will operate a total of 17 rental exhibitions every two weeks between February 25 and December 20, 2026, utilizing the 1st and 2nd floor exhibition halls (234.58㎡). Applicants must be artists from Jeonbuk, residing in or having a studio in the province, with a track record of at least 3 solo exhibitions or 5 group exhibitions in the past 7 years. For group exhibitions, the applicant must have a track record of planning at least 3 exhibitions in the past 7 years, with over 50% of participating artists being from Jeonbuk.

Applicants will be selected through document review and face-to-face interviews, and the final selected exhibitions will receive support such as critic matching and the publication of a collection of exhibition critiques. Critic matching and the exhibition critique collection will continue to be carried out in 2026 with the support of participating artists from the previous year.

The exhibition hall located on the 1st floor of the Jeonbuk Provincial Government Office is approximately 264㎡ (80 pyeong) in size, allowing for exhibitions of various visual art genres such as painting, sculpture, crafts, photography, and video. A total of 22 rental exhibitions will be held every two weeks between February 2 and December 18, 2026, with no rental fee.
Applicants must be artists from Jeonbuk or residing or operating a studio in the province, with a history of regular solo or group exhibitions. Furthermore, starting from the second half of 2026 (July 6), the entity responsible for operating the exhibition hall will change from the Jeonbuk Provincial Museum of Art to the Jeonbuk Culture and Tourism Foundation.

Director Lee Ae-seon stated, "The exhibitions at the Seoul Branch will be a place where the artistic world of participating artists meets art-related individuals such as planners and critics active in Seoul and the metropolitan area," and "The rental of the provincial government office exhibition hall will be an opportunity to showcase the diversity and capabilities of Jeonbuk art to provincial employees and citizens."

Applications can be submitted via email or registered mail from August 5 to August 14, 2025, and the announcement of the selection results will be on September 2 for the Jeonbuk Provincial Government Office exhibition hall and on October 2 for the Seoul Branch.
