The organizing committee of the Jeonju World Sound Festival (Chairman of the organizing committee, Lee Wong-jun, hereinafter referred to as the Sound Festival) successfully concluded the appointment ceremony for the 2025 Sound Festival volunteers, known as 'Sound Angels,' at the International Conference Hall of the Korean Sound Culture Hall on the 23rd.

This year, the selected 80 or so 'Sound Angels' are hidden key players who will assist in the smooth progress and operation of the festival, leading it to success by supporting various activities of the festival.

The appointment ceremony began with a welcoming video message from Kim Kwan-young, the Governor of Jeollabuk-do, followed by a congratulatory speech by Executive Director Kim Hee-sun and an oath-taking by the representative of the Sound Angels. All the Sound Angels shared their commitment to actively and devotedly participate in the festival with voluntary and dedicated hearts.

Subsequently, overall training for practical activities and team orientations were conducted. In addition to practical training focusing on festival programs, ticket operations, and venue locations, team-specific training was provided to help understand roles within the teams. The selection of team leaders and sub-leaders, sharing of activity schedules, and other activities were also carried out. Furthermore, through recreational ice-breaking programs, the Sound Angels had time to build camaraderie among themselves and create a lively atmosphere.

On the 30th, the Sound Angels are scheduled to receive specialized safety training, including disaster comprehensive experience and emergency treatment, at the Jeollabuk-do 119 Safety Experience Center. From August 12th, one day before the festival opening, until the 17th, for six days, they will be deployed throughout the festival venues to perform various roles such as guiding visitors, supporting venue operations, promoting on social media, and more.

Kim Hee-sun, the Executive Director of the Sound Festival, expressed expectations for the active participation of the Sound Angels, stating that they are the faces representing the festival and the protagonists in creating the festival. She mentioned that the passion and sense of responsibility of the Sound Angels will bring deeper emotions to the audience and make the festival venue shine even brighter.
