The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education has appointed French national team coach Oh Seok-taek as an honorary teacher.
On the 26th, the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education visited the French National Institute of Sport (INSEP) and presented a letter of appointment to Coach Oh as part of the "Overseas Education and Training Program for Outstanding Student Athletes." INSEP is a key training institution for French national team athletes, and the student athletes from the province who participated in this program experienced firsthand the science-based training program and elite support system.
Through a special lecture, Coach Oh shared advice based on his practical experience in sports, English education, and global career planning, expressing his hope to meet students again on the international stage in the future. The students also had the opportunity to have meals with French athletes and engage in natural exchanges.
Furthermore, Jeonju City promoted its vision to host the 2036 Summer Olympics to the French side through materials showcasing Jeonju's sports infrastructure and capacity to attract international competitions.
On the 25th, they also visited the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, and the IOC headquarters to broaden their understanding of Olympic history and the international sports management system.
Kang Yang-won, head of the Department of Culture, Arts, and Health at the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, stated, "Coach Oh's special lecture greatly motivated the students," and announced plans to operate various programs such as leadership training and career education in collaboration with the honorary teacher in the future.
