Wanju County held the first regular meeting of the Wanju Hydrogen Governance on the 25th at the Wanju Economic Center to enhance the competitiveness of the hydrogen industry.

This meeting was the first official meeting of the 'Wanju Hydrogen Industry Governance' centered around the Wanju Hydrogen Research Institute, which opened in January. Research institutions such as the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology, Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute, related companies, universities, and support organizations participated together.

At the regular meeting, there were presentations on the 'Hydrogen Industry Policy Trends' by Hwang Yoon-joo, Director of the Korea Hydrogen Union, and 'Response Directions for the Hydrogen Specialized Zone Competition' by Song Min-ho, Policy Officer of Wanju County, followed by a free discussion. Wanju County Mayor Yoo Hee-tae presided over the meeting and listened to the voices on-site.

Participants, including Jung Chi-young, Director of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning, Park Chang-hyun, Manager of the Small and Medium Business Administration, and Jo Sang-hyun, Head of the Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute, shared plans for technical and financial support and the establishment of hydrogen commercial vehicle infrastructure, presenting practical cooperation measures.

The attendees discussed policy proposals for fostering the hydrogen industry, improving regulations, public-private cooperation, and creating a Wanju-type hydrogen ecosystem, adding significance to the regular meeting.

Mayor Yoo stated, "We will actively support hydrogen companies to settle in Wanju by reflecting a variety of opinions from companies and experts in policies."
