The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 25th that they will be conducting a training program titled 'Training Leading Teachers for the Development of Written and Essay-type Evaluation Items' at the National Kunsan University from the 28th to the 30th.

This training program was established for the first time this year to enhance teachers' practical skills in written and essay-type evaluations and to train leading teachers who will take the lead in improving the evaluation culture by subject.

30 teachers from middle and high schools in the province will participate in the program, focusing on the subjects of Korean, Mathematics, and English. The training will include practical exercises such as item development, scoring criteria design, and feedback composition. The participating teachers have already undergone online preliminary training and individual item development processes.

After the training, they will act as a 'Student Evaluation Field Support Team' to lead the sharing and dissemination of evaluation innovation.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education expects that through this training, a future-oriented evaluation culture that nurtures critical thinking and expression will be established in schools.

Choi Eun-i, the head of the Secondary Education Department, stated, "Learning is completed through questioning, discussing, and writing," and expressed, "We will continue to make efforts to enhance teachers' professionalism for the realization of student-centered evaluations."
