The dance troupe of Jeonbuk Provincial Government's National Gugak Center performed the original dance piece 'Goseomseom' at the Staatsoper National Opera House in Berlin, Germany on the 27th (local time), in front of a sold-out audience.

'Goseomseom' is a contemporary reinterpretation of the national intangible cultural heritage 'Ttibaetnori' passed down from Buan Wido. Going beyond simple traditional reproduction, the piece artistically embodies the spirit and narrative of the local community, establishing itself as a representative repertoire of the National Gugak Center since its premiere in 2023. This performance in Berlin marked the first overseas performance of 'Goseomseom,' proving the contemporary value and globalization of traditional culture.

Directed by Lee Hye-kyung, an artistic director who has presented numerous original dances at European national theaters as an internationally renowned choreographer, harmoniously realized the delicate emotions of Korean traditional dance and modern stage aesthetics, evoking deep emotions from the local audience.

It was the first time a South Korean arts group had performed at the Staatsoper stage, considered a symbolic space for European performing arts since its opening in 1742. Director Yoo Young-dae of the National Gugak Center praised it as a "historic moment demonstrating that Jeonbuk's traditional arts can resonate sufficiently on the global stage."
