Jeonbuk Education Office to Support Korean Language Summer Camp and Teacher Training in Seattle

The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 30th that they will support the "Children's Summer Camp and Korean Language Teachers Training" event to be held in Seattle, Washington, USA from August 5th to 9th as part of the "Promotion of International Exchange in Korean Language Education" project.

This camp, organized by the Seattle Korean Education Center with cooperation from the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education, will take place at Bellevue Newport Heights Elementary School and the Seattle Korean Education Center. Elementary school students from the Seattle area and Korean language teachers from Korean language schools will participate in learning and experiencing Korean language and culture.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education will provide various Korean cultural experience programs such as Taekwondo, Bukcheong Saja-noli (lion mask dance), Hanji crafts, and knot-making. High school students participating in the Jeonbuk Global Bridge Camp will also volunteer as helpers to facilitate international exchange among students.

Furthermore, practical job training sessions on teaching methods, cultural lessons, and educational technology utilization will be conducted for local Korean language teachers and public school Korean language teachers.

Chae Seon-young, the head of policy planning, stated, "This camp will be an opportunity for students and teachers to grow together," and expressed, "We will continue to expand international educational cooperation based on traditional culture and Korean language education."
