Baek Jin-woo from Muju Middle School Wins Octami Nokseu Cup National Youth Golf Tournament

Baek Jin-woo, a third-year student at Muju Middle School, won first place in the boys' middle school division at the 8th Octamynox Cup KYGA National Youth Golf Tournament held at Gunsan C.C. on the 6th and 7th. He recorded a total of 141 strokes with a qualifying score of 75 and a final round score of 66, outperforming 77 other participants.

Baek Jin-woo expressed his gratitude, saying, "It felt like a dream to finish with a birdie on the last hole and 6 under par." He thanked his parents, teachers, and golf professionals for supporting him, saying, "Becoming a professional golfer is my dream because I love golf so much. Ultimately, I aim to compete in the United States. I will continue to practice diligently without being complacent and give my best in every game."

Baek Jin-woo, who was an alpine skier until elementary school, switched to golf in his first year of middle school and has shown his talent in domestic and international competitions, including placing 3rd in the 2025 Park Hyun-kyung Cup Amateur Golf Tournament, 3rd in the Vietnam U-15 Hanoi Junior Tour, and 5th in the 17th JAMA Golf Cup KYGA National Youth Golf Tournament.

The tournament, organized and hosted by the Korea Youth Golf Association, attracted over 450 participants from elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as the youth division nationwide. After the qualifying 18-hole round, the final round determined the rankings based on the combined stroke play scores over 18 holes.
