Gunsan City Children and Youth Council Visits National Assembly for Experience of Democracy

Members of the Gunsan Children and Youth Council visited the National Assembly on the 7th to experience democratic decision-making processes and leadership. This field trip was arranged to enhance awareness of democracy and to cultivate qualities of democratic citizens by directly experiencing the functions and roles of the National Assembly.
The members of the Gunsan Children and Youth Council visited the main assembly hall of the National Assembly, toured the National Assembly Museum, participated in a legislative experience program, and had a meeting with Shin Young-dae, a National Assembly member representing their district. During the meeting with Representative Shin, they also shared their opinions on policies they would like to propose.
Participants expressed their impressions, saying, "We were able to broaden our understanding of the operation of the National Assembly and the history of the development of democratic politics." Lee Young-ran, the head of child policy, said, "I hope this experience will help increase interest and a sense of responsibility towards politics and democracy."
The 10th Gunsan Children and Youth Council continues its activities such as inauguration ceremonies, regular meetings, child rights education, and surveys on the status of child rights in cooperation with Good Neighbors' North Jeolla Northern Branch.
