Jeonju City has launched the 'Together Financial Academy' to help young people who are isolated, reclusive, or responsible for family care achieve independence.
On the 14th, the city held the first session of the 'Empowering Financial Independence Together' education program for about 10 young people at the Big Naru Comprehensive Social Welfare Center. The lecture was led by Kim Hye-seon, director of the Korea Financial Human Resources Development Institute's Financial Education Center, who explained basic financial knowledge, asset management, and proper saving and investment methods.
The program consists of a total of three sessions: △Digital Finance and Changing Financial Life (21st) △Customized Counseling and Consulting (28th). The city plans to support young people in forming a correct understanding of finance and regaining economic independence and social confidence through this program.
A city official stated, "Financial education is a process that nurtures young people's ability to design their own future beyond simple knowledge transfer," adding, "We will continue to expand customized financial education to establish Jeonju City as a leading city in financial education."
Since April, Jeonju City has been providing tailored financial education for various groups such as young people, individuals with developmental disabilities, workers, and the elderly, and plans to expand the program to more groups in the second half of the year.
