The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Fire Headquarters will conduct a pilot operation of a non-face-to-face emergency medical consultation service called "Jeonbuk 119 Consultation Talk" based on KakaoTalk to improve the convenience of 119 emergency services for socially vulnerable groups such as those with hearing and speech impairments. The service will run from August 18 to September 14.

To utilize this service, individuals can search for the channel name "Jeonbuk 119 Consultation Talk" on KakaoTalk and register as a friend. Through chatting, services such as guidance to hospitals, emergency treatment consultations, and requesting ambulance dispatches will be available. It is expected to provide practical assistance to approximately 23,000 hearing and speech-impaired individuals in the province who may find it difficult to make voice calls.

During the trial operation period, the Fire Headquarters plans to visit disability welfare centers, disability organizations, and administrative welfare centers to promote the service and provide guidance on registration. They also plan to gather user feedback to improve the functionality. The goal is to expand the service to all residents of the province in the future.

Jeonbuk Fire Chief Lee Oh-sook stated, "Emergency services should be equally accessible to everyone," and added, "Through KakaoTalk consultations, we will work to improve the speed and safety of assistance for socially vulnerable groups in emergency situations."
