Jeongeup City announced on the 12th that it has appointed three new members as '2025 Child Safety Heroes' to promote a culture of safety led by children.
During the appointment ceremony, the city handed out safety activity vests and badges to the new members, encouraging their enthusiasm for activities. The 'Child Safety Heroes' program is a participatory program where children directly identify and report safety hazards on their way to and from school and around school areas, and it has been in operation since last year.
The newly appointed members this year are three students from the 4th and 6th grades of Sintaeein Elementary School. They are expected to take the lead in spreading a culture of safety in the community by identifying safety hazards around the school, reporting them to the 'Safety Reporting Center,' and following safety rules.
The new members expressed their determination to protect child safety, saying, "Through safety activities, we will learn necessary knowledge and experience the rewards of volunteer work."
Furthermore, volunteer hours will be recognized for those who participate in safety reporting, and outstanding participants will be awarded commendations by the Minister of Public Safety and Security.
