The solo exhibition *A Quiet Gaze* by the writer Park Hyun-jin from Jeonbuk will be held at the Seohakdong Photo Art Museum located in Seohakdong Art Village in Jeonju from August 26th to 31st. This exhibition will showcase 18 pieces of print and painting works, and the museum will be closed every Monday.
Writer Park Hyun-jin has delicately captured subtle movements of people, landscapes, seasons, sky, and wind encountered in unfamiliar or familiar places, expressing the essence of life and emotions. His work involves recording fleeting moments encountered during travels or in quiet daily life by layering them with colors in flat paintings and prints.
Regarding this exhibition, the writer expressed, "I want to share the beauty I felt alone with others, and convey meaningful companionship and empathy to those who have not been there," and added, "I hope to approach with gentle comfort and a quiet yet vivid resonance."
Park Hyun-jin completed his doctoral program at Hanyang University and graduated from the doctoral course at Hiroshima City University in Japan. He has held 14 solo and group exhibitions in Seoul and Jeonju. Currently, he is active in the Korea Fine Arts Association, Korea Society of Design Science, Jeonbuk·Jeonju Art Association, operates Re:in art studio, and teaches at Jeonbuk University.
The Seohakdong Photo Art Museum, where the exhibition will be held, is a specialized space for photography and visual arts located in Seohakdong Art Village, Wansan-gu, Jeonju. It serves as an open platform for communication between local artists and citizens through exhibitions by domestic and international artists and various cultural art programs.
