A fairy tale that looks at the world through the eyes of abandoned animals unfolds on stage, combining music, sand art, magic, and mime.

On the 30th, Jeonju Wansan Library will host a special book concert featuring author Kim Geun-hye's new work, "The Forest of Stray Dogs," on the first floor open stage.

Composer Gu Ji-young, sand artist Ok Hye-jeong, and magic and mime artist Kim Ki-min will come together to bring scenes from the story to life through songs, sand drawings, magic, and gestures, leading the audience into a new sensory art experience.

Author Kim Geun-hye has consistently presented a unique perspective on humans, society, and nature through works such as "Adolescence, We Are Transforming" (2025), "Best Friend Extraction Project" (2024), and "I Will Be Your Summer" (2023). In particular, "Best Friend Extraction Project" was selected as the 'Jeonju Book of the Year' last year, receiving significant attention.

His new work, "The Forest of Stray Dogs," is a coming-of-age fairy tale that depicts friendship and courage transcending species that bloom even amidst human greed in the earthly paradise of abandoned animals, 'Island Forest.' In this performance, Kim will personally write the lyrics, and Gu Ji-young will compose the song "Lado's Song," which will debut, delivering a special resonance to the audience.

Kim Geun-hye expressed, "Through the friendship between a dog and a cat encountered in the Island Forest, I want to convey the message of 'respecting life and taking responsibility until the end,'" adding, "I hope this book concert will be a time to sincerely share hearts with readers."
