Jeonju Welfare Foundation (Chairman Yoon Bang-seop) announced on the 5th that they provided commuting expenses to 100 high school students from low-income families. This support was arranged with the aim of promoting the academic continuity of youth and improving transportation welfare.
The beneficiaries are low-income high school students residing in Jeonju, who travel a distance of 2 km or more to school using public transportation or shuttle buses.
In the first half of the year, the foundation provided 120,000 won per student, and in the second half, they expanded the support amount to 135,000 won to reflect the increase in youth bus fares. As a result, the total annual support amount per student became 255,000 won.
Since 2023, the Jeonju Welfare Foundation has been providing commuting expenses to a total of 554 youth through the 'Low-Income Family Youth Commuting Expense Support Project.'
Chairman Yoon Bang-seop stated, "Academic pursuits should not be hindered by transportation expenses," and expressed, "Continuing support will be provided in the future to ensure that commuting expense assistance is a practical help to students and families, making the journey to school a path towards their dreams."
