On the 5th, Suncheon County held a commemorative event for the '2025 Gender Equality Week' at the Disabled Sports Center, sharing the value of gender equality with the residents.

Under the theme of 'A gender-equal society where everyone is respected, a happy Republic of Korea for all,' the event was attended by over 500 people, including members of women's organizations. It featured pre-event activities, a commemoration ceremony, special lectures, and various other programs.

During the ceremony, Suncheon County Mayor Choi Young-il awarded commendations to a total of 23 individuals, including members of women's organizations, local leaders, and government officials, who contributed to the spread of gender equality culture.

Comedian Kim Bohwa then delivered a lively lecture on the theme 'Now is the era of communication for a gender-equal society,' receiving a great response. In the lobby of the venue, campaigns for violence prevention by the Child and Women Protection Association and job counseling services for women were provided, offering practical information and support.

Mayor Choi Young-il expressed his hope that "this event will help spread awareness about gender equality and further activate women's social participation."
