JST Graduate School Holds Orientation for First-Year Students... Official Launch of Graduate School Linked with Jeonbuk-style Jisan Studies

The JST Shared Graduate School, jointly operated by five universities in the Jeonbuk region, announced its official launch by selecting its first batch of new students this year and holding an orientation on September 4th.

As part of the Regional Innovation Support for Universities (RISE) project, the JST Shared Graduate School is a specialized graduate program aimed at nurturing innovative talents in the strategic industries of future transportation equipment, new energy industries, agricultural and bio industries in Jeonbuk through a convergence-oriented approach.

The event was attended by prominent figures such as Yang Oh-bong, the President of Jeonbuk University, Lee Gyo-woo, the Head of JST Shared Graduate School, Kang Young-seok, the Director of the Special Education Cooperation Office in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and Chae Soo-chan, the Director of the Jeonbuk RISE Center, along with new students, who celebrated the program's commencement together.

During the orientation, the students were provided with information on academic schedules, curriculum guidance, and university life, while also sharing the vision of the Shared Graduate School based on the collaboration between academia and industry to help students in career planning and goal setting.

Head of JST Shared Graduate School, Lee Gyo-woo, stated, "The JST Shared Graduate School is an innovative platform that connects the region, universities, and industries," adding, "We will actively support the new students to grow into specialized talents leading the future."

The JST Shared Graduate School plans to continue expanding its collaboration with academia and industry, focusing on practical and research-based education, to cultivate essential local talents equipped with both practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
