The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province National Gugak Center Orchestra, led by Director Yoo Young-dae, will present the 52nd regular concert "Arnuvo III" at 7:30 p.m. on the 18th at the Hanok Cultural Center in Mokak Hall.
In this performance, following last year's regular concert, the symphony series "Arnuvo III" with the theme of the five major pansori songs will feature a symphony for Korean classical orchestra titled "Simcheong" and a cantata choral piece "Haewon" commissioned for its world premiere.
The Arnuvo series is a long-term project of the orchestra that showcases the authenticity and artistry of Korean music based on traditional music, while delivering emotional performances. Since 2022, it has been presenting new works each year through a fusion of traditional and modern, Eastern and Western artistic elements, demonstrating new possibilities for classical orchestras.
Arnuvo III consists of a symphony for Korean classical orchestra "Simcheong," a pansori concerto "Chunhyangga - The Scene where Chunhyang Draws the Lord," a yanggeum and madu-geum concerto "Song of the Wind," and a total of four pieces including a cantata for Korean classical orchestra and chorus "Haewon," combining various genres such as symphony, concerto, and choral symphony to create a more complete and sophisticated program.
