- Relieving the burden of an undefeated record and becoming even stronger... 'Jinan County Partner Day' on the 13th
Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC (Chairman Lee Do-hyun, hereinafter Jeonbuk Hyundai) is once again rising to the occasion and heading towards winning the K League 1 championship.
Jeonbuk Hyundai will face Daejeon Hana Citizen (hereinafter Daejeon) in the K League 1 29th round at Jeonju World Cup Stadium (hereinafter Jeonju Castle) on the evening of the 13th.
Since securing the top spot after a victory against Daegu on May 27th and dominating the summer of the K League 1, Jeonbuk Hyundai is now preparing for autumn football with the aim of winning the championship.
Daejeon, who will face off in this round, is currently in 3rd place in the league and has fiercely contested matches against Jeonbuk Hyundai in each game.
Although Jeonbuk Hyundai is ahead with 1 win and 1 draw in their two K League 1 encounters this season, the competition has been intense with a record of 2 wins, 6 draws, and 2 losses in the last 10 matches.
Jeonbuk Hyundai concluded their undefeated streak with a victory over Pohang on August 24th, but instead of feeling pressure, the team seems to be relieving it and making another leap forward.
Having won all matches from the Korea Cup semi-final second leg against Gangwon to the K League 1 match against Ulsan after the Pohang game, Jeonbuk Hyundai has overcome physical disadvantages in consecutive midweek matches, making the team even stronger.
As it has been about 3 weeks since the home game following the Korea Cup semi-final first leg on August 20th, the support from fans is also fervent.
As of the morning of the 11th, more than 23,000 tickets, including season tickets, have been sold, with an expected audience of over 25,000 for the game.
With 25,000 Jeonbuk Hyundai fans expected to visit Jeonju Castle, Jeonju City has made efforts to improve transportation options.
For the game on the 13th, the eco-friendly hydrogen bus '1994 Bus' will be expanded to 15 units, and two electric village buses operating towards the Innovation and Manseong Districts near Jeonju Castle will also be expanded.
This day has been designated as 'Partner Day' by Jinan County, a partner municipality of Jeonbuk Hyundai.
Jinan County will set up promotional booths in the eastern square, offering fans various events such as tasting Jinan County's specialty red ginseng drinks and jellies.
Before the game, various award ceremonies for players who heated up the summer of this season are scheduled.
In July, Song Beom-geun and Thiago were selected for 'Save of the Month' and 'Goal Celebration of the Month,' respectively, and national team player Kim Jin-kyu, who achieved his 100th appearance in the K League 1 against Daegu on August 16th, will be honored during the ceremony.
Meanwhile, Jeonbuk Hyundai achieved a double crown by receiving the 'Plus Stadium Award' and 'Fan Friendly Club Award' for the K League 1 2nd stage (rounds 14-26) of the 2025 season.
