The National Gugak Center (Director Kim Jung-hyun) will present "The Clown" by the performance group Yeonhui Group on October 6th at 3 p.m. at the Yewon Hall, as part of the 2025 Chuseok special performance. This performance, titled "The Running Man, the Jumping Man, and Me," is prepared as a traditional Yeonhui stage that anyone of all ages can enjoy, embodying the meaning of Chuseok, the national holiday that wishes for prosperity and harmony.

The performance is composed of a diverse program that reinterprets traditional Yeonhui with a modern sensibility. Starting with Pungmul, it will be followed by various traditional plays such as Ganggangsullae, Sangsoe nori, Seoljanggu nori, Saja nori, Sogo nori, Beona nori, Jukbangul nori, and Yeoldubal Sangmo nori, where the audience can experience the essence of traditional Yeonhui within dynamic and lively rhythms. In particular, the Pungmul, where individual Yeonhui performances are combined, is expected to maximize the festive atmosphere of Chuseok.

"The Clown" is a performance group composed of Yeonhui artists specializing in folk arts such as Pungmul, Talchum, and Namsadangnori. They present creative performances that combine traditional Yeonhui with contemporary stories, promoting the charm and value of our traditional Yeonhui domestically and internationally. They have won numerous awards, including the Soolim New Wave Award in 2020 and the KBS Traditional Music Award in 2013.

Prior to the performance, from 1 p.m. to 2:50 p.m., there will be additional events held in the lobby and outdoor spaces of Yewon Hall. Various experiential programs will be available, including traditional folk games like Yutnori, Tuho, Beona nori, Jegichagi, calligraphy to express wishes, Tarot card readings, and life photo shoots, enhancing the joy of Chuseok.

Furthermore, there will be an SNS comment event for the audience. The first 100 people to leave a comment on the Chuseok performance promotional materials posted on the National Gugak Center's SNS account at the venue will receive commemorative.gif'>ts, creating a platform for online and offline communication.

This performance is free for all seats, and reservations can be made in advance through the National Gugak Center's website (namwon.gugak.go.kr). Reservations can be made starting two weeks before the performance date, and tickets can be collected on the day of the performance.

An official from the National Gugak Center stated, "We have prepared a traditional cultural festival that families and neighbors can enjoy together during Chuseok," and expressed hope that the stage combining traditional games and Yeonhui will be a place to share the joy and value of our culture and communication."
