The 2nd 'Jeonbuk Forum' was successfully held on the 24th at the Namwon Sweet Hotel. This forum aimed to strengthen Jeonbuk's solidarity with the international community, share strategies for regional development focusing on agriculture, life, culture, and tourism industries, domestically and internationally, and lay the foundation for leaping into a life economy city.

Co-hosted by Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province and Namwon City, and organized by the Jeonbuk Research Institute, the event was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and the Rural Development Administration. The forum, held for two days starting on the 23rd, saw the participation of over 700 domestic and international experts, officials from international organizations, embassy officials from six countries, and local residents engaging in heated discussions.

Sarath Davala, Chair of the Basic Income Earth Network from India, who delivered the keynote speech, emphasized the need for basic income experiments, stating that we must transition from infinite growth to a care-centered capitalism. He particularly praised Jeonbuk as a region with great potential to lead in this regard.

Subsequently, Wu Bihu, President of the China International Tourism Research Society, proposed linking Jeonbuk's hanok village, red ginseng festival, and mountain healing programs with the Chinese market through the 'Mountain Tourism International Cooperation Strategy'. Composer Yoon Ilsang presented on the theme of 'K-POP and Traditional Music Fusion Centered on Jeonbuk', emphasizing that by incorporating the success factors of K-POP into pansori, Jeonbuk can create its own unique music brand.

The afternoon sessions were divided into three areas: culture and tourism, agriculture and life, and domestic cooperation forums. In the culture and tourism session, discussions were held on industrializing pansori, globalizing K-contents, and sharing examples of mountain tourism from Japan. The agriculture and life session discussed topics such as agricultural digital transformation, food tech cluster formation, and the promotion of Namwon Smart Farm Complex. The domestic cooperation forum covered various topics including Saemangeum policy forum, water forum, Jeonbuk-Gangso Province academic conference, and Jeonju Olympic bidding strategy, exploring Jeonbuk's industrial strategies from various perspectives.

Jeonbuk Governor Kim Kwan-young stated, "This forum has become an opportunity for Jeonbuk to establish international strategies for becoming a life economy city and broaden international consensus on the province," adding, "We will faithfully reflect the diverse proposals from the forum in policies to create a sustainable future for Jeonbuk."
