The Democratic Party of Korea's Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Branch (led by Chairman Lee Won-taek) will hold the first meeting of the Honam Development Special Committee for Jeonbuk Region (hereinafter referred to as the Honam Special Committee Jeonbuk Branch) at the party office at 9:30 a.m. on the 27th. During this meeting, discussions will be held on organizational structure, identifying future development tasks in Jeonbuk, and directions for promoting key current issues.
The Honam Special Committee Jeonbuk Branch is currently composed of 15 members (see attached list), including Lee Won-taek, a senior vice chairman of the Democratic Party's Honam Development Special Committee (chaired by Seo Sam-seok), Vice Chairman Shin Young-dae, Member Lee Sung-yoon, and General Director Professor Lee Dong-ki of the Department of Public Administration and Journalism at Wonkwang University. Plans include appointing additional members and forming an advisory committee, as well as establishing sector-specific activity systems for more effective operations.
The Honam Special Committee Jeonbuk Branch aims to identify and implement core issues in Jeonbuk, discover large-scale projects for cooperation in the Honam region, develop growth strategies for 14 cities and counties including Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province, and secure legal revision tasks to ensure regional growth momentum. Additionally, the committee plans to focus on field-oriented activities by collaborating organically with provincial, city, county, and related agencies.
