On the 25th, Jeongeup City held a sales event for products made by people with disabilities in the lobby of the main building of the city hall to celebrate Chuseok, aiming to improve awareness and expand distribution channels.
This event was organized to promote products produced by severely disabled vocational rehabilitation facilities in the province, encourage citizen participation, and drive towards ensuring stable income for people with disabilities and establishing a foundation for independence. Five institutions, including two in Jeongeup, participated in the event, showcasing and selling 48 products such as.gif'>t sets and household items.
A city official stated, "Through this event, we hope to see increased interest and purchases from citizens in products made by people with disabilities," adding, "We will continue to strive for the vocational rehabilitation and stable income security of people with disabilities."
Meanwhile, Jeongeup City is making efforts to secure stable distribution channels by aiming to achieve the public institution priority purchase rate (1.1% or more of the total purchase amount) as mandated by the "Special Law on Priority Purchase of Products Made by Severely Disabled People," through conducting training for officials and providing tailored consulting services.
