During the Chuseok holiday period, North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province is operating wood culture experience centers to achieve carbon neutrality and promote eco-friendly wood culture, providing residents and visitors with special experiential opportunities.

From October 3 to 9, during the upcoming holiday, wood culture experience centers located in three cities and counties in the province (Jeongeup, Muju, and Imsil) will offer various woodworking experience programs for families to directly experience the eco-friendly value of wood by making household items using wood.

Amid worsening climate crisis, wood is gaining attention as an eco-friendly material that stores carbon. Trees absorb carbon during their growth process, and when utilized as wood products after harvesting, they act as a "carbon sink," contributing to long-term carbon reduction. Therefore, through the wood culture experience centers, residents can actively experience the environmental value of wood in a natural way.

Currently, there are a total of four wood culture experience centers operating in North Jeolla Province, offering programs that cater to a wide range of age groups from toddlers to adults.
