A reenactment ceremony of the offering of Taizoeojin, which was moved to Seoul before being brought back to Jeonju to replicate, was held in Jeonju, the ancestral home of the Joseon Dynasty.

Jeonju City announced that the Taizoeojin procession, which progressed from Chunggye-ro Intersection to Pungnammun Intersection and finally to Gyeonggi Pavilion in front of the City Hall on the 18th, concluded with the interest and participation of many citizens and tourists.

The reenactment of the Taizoeojin offering ceremony was recreated based on historical records from the original ceremony in 1688 (the 14th year of King Sukjong's reign). It is a traditional cultural content that can only be seen in Jeonju, where the ancestral home of the Joseon Dynasty and the Taizoeojin shrine are located.

The reenactment event on that day began with a ritual called Jinbal, signaling the start of the procession in front of Jeonju City Hall, designated as the main stop for the royal procession.

The procession was led by Jeolla Gamusa, who escorted the palanquin, followed by Jeonsadae, Shinnyeon (spirit envoys), officials, artisans, and soldiers.

Upon arriving at Jeonju Hanok Village, the procession passed through the main gate of Gyeonggi Pavilion, where the palanquin was offered. A unique ceremony signaling the successful offering of Taizoeojin was the final part of the event.

This year, for the first time, the procession included over 200 citizens from various groups such as children, teenagers, cultural arts enthusiasts, and families. The event was enhanced by performances including a Taekwondo demonstration by 100 local youth expressing hopes for hosting the Olympics and a performance by 50 children from Hyorim Elementary School showcasing traditional games.

Citizens and tourists cheered and enjoyed the ceremony, which was more majestic and entertaining than before, experiencing the culture of Joseon Dynasty rituals together.

The 2025 reenactment of the Taizoeojin offering ceremony of the Joseon Dynasty was live-streamed through the YouTube channel of the Traditional Culture Village Association, and it can be rewatched for those who missed it.
