Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province to Hold Commemorative Event for the 45th Anniversary of Citizens' Day

On the 20th, Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province held a commemorative event for the 45th Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province Citizens' Day at the Jeollabuk Provincial Office Performance Hall.

The event kicked off with the inaugural performance "Living with Style" by the Jeollabuk Provincial Traditional Music Institute Orchestra. Following this, Governor Kim Gwanyoung and Chairman Moon Seungwoo of the Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province Council jointly recited the provincial pledge, declaring the pride and community spirit of the Jeollabuk residents.

This year, the proud Jeollabuk Citizens Awards were presented to individuals who have contributed to the development of the local community in the areas of innovation, economy, culture, and sharing.

In the innovation category, Kang Juil, CEO of iBus Co., Ltd., who developed the first eco-friendly school bus in Korea, was honored. In the economic sector, Lee Juhyup, CEO of Daelim Industry Co., Ltd., was recognized for his contribution to local talent recruitment and market expansion. In the cultural field, National Assembly member Im Ogyeong, who spearheaded the 'K-Culture Holy Land Jeollabuk 2036 Project,' was selected. In the sharing category, Kim Youngil, Chairman of Cheonil Housing Construction, was chosen for his scholarship programs and consistent charitable activities.

The latter part of the event featured congratulatory performances by baritone Oh Yohan and vocalist Lee Yongseon, followed by performances by the Jeollabuk Provincial Traditional Music Institute Dance Troupe and Opera Troupe, which heightened the atmosphere. In the final segment, all attendees sang "Jeollabuk Arirang" together, reflecting on the meaning of provincial harmony.
