The '2025 Autism Race', a run to improve awareness of autism, was held at Jeonju City Hall Plaza at 10 a.m. on the 28th.

Held under the slogan 'Embrace Differences with Diversity!', this event was organized to increase understanding of autism and eliminate prejudices. A total of 110 participants, including 70 individuals with developmental disabilities and 40 caregivers, walked together along a 4.2km route in downtown Jeonju.

Participants received medals upon completion of the race. The event also included a street campaign with the participation of five developmental disability day care centers - Doodream, The Sharing, Dream Village, Hope, and Haenam - enhancing communication and inclusivity with the local community.

Starting from Jeonju City Hall Plaza, participants completed a course that passed through Hanok Village, Pungnam Gate Plaza, Ogeoji Plaza, and returned to City Hall Plaza. Rest stops along the route provided refreshments and lucky draw events for added enjoyment. Additionally, the main branch of Pungnyeon Bakery provided opportunities for local shopping through chocolate pie exchange vouchers.

This event is expected to serve as more than just a simple running and walking event, providing individuals with developmental disabilities a sense of achievement through completion and fostering a positive attitude towards new challenges. It was also a meaningful occasion for enhancing teamwork, camaraderie, promoting health, and practicing community integration through the use of local businesses and street campaigns.
