Poet Park Seong-woo's new work, "Introduction of a Twelve-Year-Old," has been published.
Starting from the question, 'What makes a good self-introduction?' the book introduces 30 keywords that deviate from the usual framework, such as 'the most cherished photo,' 'words habits to improve,' 'people you dislike,' to express oneself. It teaches the joy of expressing oneself through these unconventional self-introduction keywords.
Featuring five children full of personality, each expressing their thoughts honestly in their own voices on various topics, readers naturally learn that not only 'I,' but others as well, have various aspects and depths.
Park Seong-woo's delicate sensibility and practical advice expand beyond self-expression to self-understanding and empathy, making it a cultural book.
"Introduction of a Twelve-Year-Old" is an extension of "Twelve-Year-Olds' Future Hopes" (Changbi, 2021), a collaboration between Park Seong-woo and artist Hong Geurim.
While the previous work made readers think about the human-centered future hopes of 'who they want to become,' suggesting a shift in perception, this book, in line with Park Seong-woo's 'emotional growth' cultural book context, offers warm encouragement that self-introductions do not need to be perfect.
