The foundation corporation Jeonju Food Integrated Support Center (hereinafter referred to as Jeonju Food) announced on the 28th that they will be hosting the '2025 Jeonju Kimchi Culture Festival' for a total of 680 families from November 21st to 23rd at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium (Square of Meeting).
Under the slogan '2025 Jeonju Kimchi Culture Festival, Combining Taste and Style,' this event, held for the 7th time, will provide ingredients made from locally produced and safety-certified agricultural products from Jeonju, totaling 10.5kg per family (7kg of pickled cabbage and 3.5kg of seasoning) to promote Jeonju's kimchi culture of taste and style.
The participation fee, which was 69,000 won per 10kg based on last year, has been set at 75,000 won this year due to the increase in cabbage prices and the demand for increased seasoning quantity from existing participants (3kg → 3.5kg).
Citizens who wish to participate in the kimchi culture festival can place 100% internet orders and registrations at Jeonju Food Market from the 23rd of last month until November 1st.
The kimchi cabbage provided at this festival uses only cabbage that has passed agricultural product safety inspections, with 12 farming households having sown and cultivated them from the end of August to mid-September. It is a characteristic that they are pickled in a clean facility that has received HACCP certification to enhance safety.
At this year's kimchi culture festival, visitors can enjoy kimchi exhibitions, promotions, and experience events, rural experiences, camping cooking contests, nostalgic games and crafting experiences, photo zones, food booths, and various cultural performances (musical gala shows, fusion traditional music, busking, trot, magic shows, bubble shows, etc.).
Efforts are being made for the Jeonju Kimchi Culture Festival to be an environmentally friendly event promoting a zero-waste carbon-neutral festival, encouraging participants to bring their own kimchi containers, rubber gloves, aprons, and reduce the use of disposable items.
