Seoul Arts Company's original play 'Jeon Woochi' will take the stage in Jeonju.
The performance, which ended successfully at the Seoul Arts Center's CJ Towol Theater from October 25th to November 2nd, is a new work featuring the 'K-Superhero' Jeon Woochi as the protagonist. On the 8th of next month at 7 p.m., the first regional performance will be held at the Moak Hall of the Korean Sound Culture Center.
'Jeon Woochi' is a fantasy fusion play that reinterprets the mysterious deeds and legends of the real historical figure Jeon Woochi from the Joseon Dynasty with a modern sensibility. Beyond a simple reproduction of classical legends, it encapsulates a newly born hero narrative with a modern perspective and imagination, intertwining the story of Jeon Woochi who punishes corrupt power and rescues the people through singing, dancing, and acting.
Lee Han-soo has been cast in the role of the hero Jeon Woochi. He is expected to deeply express the human side of Jeon Woochi who transcends between magic, humor, and justice. Choi In-hyung plays the role of the mentor Seo Hwa-dam, and Lee Eun-sol plays the role of Gumiho, who truly leads Jeon Woochi. The role of the absolute power figure Okhwang Sangje is portrayed by Geum Seung-hoon, adding tension to the drama.
Through this Jeonju performance, the Seoul Arts Company plans to showcase the charm of 'K-Fantasy Play,' which reinterprets Korean themes and stage forms with modern aesthetics to the local audience.
The Korean Sound Culture Center offers a 30% discount to paid members and Seoul Arts Company members, as well as various discounts to residents of Jeollabuk-do and welfare recipients.
