The Jeonbuk Regional Joint Culture Committee (Chairman Lee Byung-jae) held a training session on the use of AI in press release writing for activists from civic organizations on November 11, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the seminar room of the Jeonbuk Provincial Office Performance Hall. This training was organized as part of the Jeonbuk Regional Joint Media School program, with Chairman Lee Byung-jae and reporter Lim Chang-hyun from the Jeonbuk Education Newspaper participating as instructors. The Disability Rights Association's Disability Family Care Support Team invited 20 civic activists, including 8 practitioners, to enhance their practical skills and participate in the training.

During the lecture, the focus was on how civic organizations can effectively convey messages in the rapidly changing media environment, and on ways to enhance the professionalism and productivity of press releases using AI. The training began with an explanation of the basic structure of press releases and the 6 W's principle (who, when, where, what, why, how), followed by a hands-on practice session where participants used AI tools to write and edit article drafts. Participants gained firsthand experience in the press release writing process by actually using AI tools.

Chairman Lee Byung-jae emphasized, "AI is not a tool that replaces the roles of journalists and activists, but rather an auxiliary tool that helps in delivering messages more effectively," and stressed that "accurate fact-checking and conveying key messages are still the most important." During the practical session, participants wrote press releases based on their respective organization's topics, polished sentences using AI, and gained various practical experiences.

Kim Hak-san, the representative of the Jeonbuk Regional Joint Committee, stated, "We planned this training to enable civic organizations to effectively communicate with the media even in situations where there is a lack of manpower and resources," and expressed, "We will continue to steadily implement AI capacity enhancement programs to ensure that the voice of the local community is delivered more professionally and reliably."

Through this training, it is expected that the practical skills of civic organizations will be further strengthened, and the quality of press releases for community public activities will be improved.
