Jeonju City is recruiting organizations to carry out the '2026 Severe Disability Peer Counseling Program' to enhance the self-reliance and social participation of individuals with severe disabilities.

This program aims to strengthen the foundation for independent living of individuals with disabilities through peer counseling, information sharing, and support group activities by disabled counselors who have obtained the qualification of disability peer counselors and completed training courses to become peer counselors with the same type of disability as the participants.

The target applicants are organizations with the capacity to provide peer support services for severe disabilities located in Jeonju City, with a limit of up to two organizations. Applications will be accepted in person from the 20th to the 24th at the Disability Welfare Division of Jeonju City (29 Nosonggwangjang-ro, Wansan-gu, 4th floor of Jeonju City Hall).

A participant in the peer counseling program stated, "I received a lot of practical help by sharing experiences of overcoming similar difficulties with fellow disabled individuals who have experienced the same challenges and by exchanging information related to employment." They added, "I hope that many disabled individuals will benefit from the peer counseling program to break free from social isolation and gain support for independence."
