National Folk Music Institute, Completion of Cultural Performance for Shandong 'China-Korea Friendship Week'

The National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts (Director Kim Jung-hyun) presented an invited cultural performance at the '2025 Korea-China Friendship Week' event held in Jinan, Shandong Province, China on the evening of the 19th. This performance was a formal event jointly hosted by the South Korean Embassy and the South Korean Cultural Center in China, created to reaffirm the friendship and goodwill in cultural and artistic exchanges between the two countries.
The National Center for Korean Traditional Performing Arts staged three traditional theatrical pieces, including "When the Calm Stars Rise" combining Taepyeongso, folk songs, and dance, "Spring Breeze and Flower Rain" consisting of folk songs and fan dance, and "Scenes of Elegance" featuring Pansori and Sohak dance. Lasting for about 30 minutes, the performance captivated the local audience's keen interest, conveying the liveliness and spiritual essence unique to Korean traditional arts and fostering cultural empathy.
Director Kim Jung-hyun expressed, "It is meaningful to directly showcase Korean traditional arts to the local audience in Shandong through the Korea-China Friendship Week," adding, "We will continue to expand cooperation with major cultural institutions to enhance the international status of Korean culture."
