The National Gugak Center (Director Kim Joong-hyun) completed the improvement of the lobby and exhibition/experience spaces as the main focus for environmental enhancement and the establishment of innovative technology-integrated content over the course of the year 2025, culminating in the creation of a visitor-centered cultural enjoyment space.

The space improvement this time was pursued with the aim of expanding the waiting time before and after performances from simple transit/stay spaces to being part of the cultural experience. To achieve this, the lobby of the performance hall was organically connected with visual and auditory content, guidance systems, and experiential elements to create a space environment suitable for a national arts institution.

Firstly, in the lobby of the new building of the performance hall, innovative technology-integrated video content based on pansori was established. Through real-time visual clocks, DID, LED, and projector integrated systems, and video content continuously played according to the performance schedule, visitors could intuitively perceive performance information. The video production using traditional patterns and the three-dimensional sound composition play a role in naturally inducing the understanding and interest of the audience before the performance.

Additionally, the improvement of the Gugak experience space 'Heungbumaru' on the second floor lobby was completed. By organizing the entrance and flow, replacing the flooring with consideration for child safety, and creating a space combining rest and experience, the convenience for family visitors was enhanced. This space is being expanded in its usage by being linked to various activities such as children's performances, experience programs, Gugak meditation, and more.

The National Gugak Center actively utilizes the achieved results of the space improvement in the actual viewing environment. On the 20th, in connection with the year-end performance, a program before the performance will be operated from 1:30 p.m. at the newly renovated lobby space. Visitors will be able to directly experience the effects of the space improvement while enjoying music and refreshments before the performance starts.

An official from the National Gugak Center stated, "This environmental improvement is significant in that it is not limited to individual facility maintenance but a comprehensive space reorganization considering the entire flow before and after the performance," and expressed, "We will continue to focus on improving spaces and enhancing content based on visitors' experience for the future."
