The winners of the 7th Beautiful Education Community Award, hosted and organized by the Korea Beautiful Community Association (Chairman Du Jae-kyun), have been selected.
This award was established in 2019 to discover and encourage the hidden efforts of educators who dedicate themselves to students in the field of education. Each year, after receiving recommendations from over 30 members of the education community, conducting on-site inspections, and rigorous evaluations, the winners are selected.
This year's winners are Kim Sung-hee, a teacher at Jeonju Gijeon Middle School; Park Sang-ok, vice principal of Mujoo Pureun Dream High School; Jeon Seung-deok, principal of Jeonju Yanghyun Middle School; Song Gyu, principal of Buan Nam Elementary School; Kim Jung-hee, an educational welfare officer at Gunsan Sanbuk Elementary School; and Song Won-yong, a teacher at Jeonju Banwol Elementary School.
Teacher Kim Sung-hee has led improvements in student-centered teaching by fostering a culture of carbon neutrality and integrating free semester systems and experiential activities.
Vice Principal Park Sang-ok has dedicated 23 years to the holistic growth and literacy improvement of students, contributing to the democratic operation of schools and the spread of alternative education.
Principal Jeon Seung-deok has led a happy school culture where students, parents, and faculty members come together, guiding democratic school operations based on empathy and communication.
Educational welfare officer Kim Jung-hee has worked to activate the education community by continuously managing cases of students in welfare blind spots and engaging in activities that connect local resources.
Principal Song Gyu has dedicated himself to education that fosters self-directed future capabilities through youth organization (Scout) activities.
Teacher Song Won-yong has been praised for enhancing students' talents and aptitudes through sports and arts education, strengthening life guidance, and increasing trust in school education.
Chairman Du Jae-kyun expressed, "I once again felt the dedication of many educators this year," and thanked all educators who strive for children amid rapidly changing educational environments.
The award ceremony for the 7th Beautiful Education Community Award will be held on January 15th next year at 2 p.m. in the auditorium of the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education. It will be a time for educators, families, and award winners to reflect on the meaning of the education community together.
