Elderly residents of Hwajeong Village in Gosan-myeon, Wanju-gun, have compiled a cookbook titled "Budumak Recipe" by gathering the memories and wisdom of the village. The book contains 17 disappearing nostalgic dishes such as barley shiragubap, skewered rice cakes, baby pepper stir-fry, and loach and torantang, with the feature being that it is a collection of experiences from various elderly individuals rather than a specific person's touch, organized into communal recipes.

The "Budumak Recipe" was produced with the support of the '2025 Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Province Village Community Media Activation Support Project.' The elderly residents held meetings at the village hall to select dishes, share their individual secrets, and collectively organize them into one recipe. They also personally drew the food names and ingredient illustrations by hand. Media activists Lee Kyung-seon and Kim Sang-mi supported the composition and production.

Among the dishes featured in the book, dishes like sparrow stir-fry, sweet potato string soup, and radish pancake have also been produced as cooking videos. They can be viewed on the Wanju Media Center YouTube channel through QR codes.

This year, Hwajeong Village also achieved success in a contest. With the "Budumak Recipe," they won the Grand Prize in the '2025 Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Province Village Community Media Content Contest,' and last year, they received an Excellence Award in the '2025 Jeollabuk-do Video Content Festival' for the short film "Those Days."

Meanwhile, the elderly residents of Hwajeong Village have been continuing their media activities for the fourth year in collaboration with the Wanju Media Center, documenting the village's history and memories through activities such as video autobiographies, a photo record book titled "Aneujak Aneujak Flower Tasting," and short film productions.
