The Jeonbuk-based arts group Ddabak Band is garnering significant attention by releasing a documentary titled 'Not Just Ramen, Cooking' on YouTube, which was produced collaboratively by individuals with and without disabilities.

The film, which runs for about 8 minutes, captures the heartwarming journey of Chang-gwi, a person with developmental disabilities, as he transitions from his daily routine of eating cup ramen to challenging himself to cook independently. The documentary effectively promotes awareness of disabilities and inclusive culture. Originally planned as a short film, 'Ddabak, Making Movies Season 2' was transformed into a documentary format based on participant feedback. A total of 16 individuals (11 with disabilities, 8 artists) collaborated from August 22 to October 31, 2025, through 8 meetings to plan, shoot, and edit the video.

The participants focused on video editing practice instead of acting rehearsals, enhancing their creative skills through role assignments (director, producer, cinematographer, etc.). The documentary, which realistically records Chang-gwi's bean sprout salad and rice cake soup cooking process at the Jeonju Food Hyocheon Branch cooking class, as well as an interview with an activity support worker, premiered on a large LED screen at the Peace Hall of Chi Myeongja Temple on November 4 during the Disability Culture and Arts Empathy Concert, receiving a positive response from over 300 audience members.

Currently available for free on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXiMR5Hm7ds), the documentary is enhancing accessibility through subtitles and audio enhancements, leading to an increase in community empathy and showcasing about ten individuals with developmental disabilities improving their independent living skills. Through this project, Ddabak Band is proving the social value of cultural arts and plans to continue collaborative creative activities within the disability community in the future.
