The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced on the 29th that they have produced a constitution education booklet titled **'Exploring the Values of Democracy in the Constitution'** to enable students to explore the process through which democratic values are realized through the constitution.
This booklet, aimed at enhancing the civic awareness of elementary, middle, and high school students, is designed to deeply study the constitution and democracy not as mere knowledge but as concept-based inquiry learning. Based on core concepts of democracy such as responsibility, rights, publicness, participation, and justice, the booklet includes activities where students create their own questions, apply them to real-life issues, and engage in exploration.
Since October of last year, the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education has been conducting constitution education programs for 82 classes in elementary and middle schools in the province, and has been expanding constitution education efforts by providing special lectures to around 330 teachers and education professionals.
The booklet includes presentation materials for teachers and student activity guides that can be directly utilized in the classroom, raising expectations for its practical use on-site. The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education plans to distribute the booklet to all levels of schools by March of next year.
Jung Mi-jeong, head of the Democratic Citizen Education Department, stated, "We will strengthen constitution education so that students can discover the spirit of the constitution in the classroom and in their daily lives, and practice the values of democracy."
