Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC has strengthened their defense by acquiring center-back Byun Jun-soo (24), who is considered the next core of the South Korean defense.

On the 15th, Jeonbuk Hyundai officially announced the signing of Byun Jun-soo, who has been active at Gwangju FC and has been selected for the national team. This acquisition is evaluated as part of a long-term strategy aimed at the generational change in the defense line.

Byun Jun-soo is a defender who utilizes his height of 190cm to his advantage and possesses stable abilities in backline build-up, having recorded 5 goals and 3 assists in a total of 71 K League matches. In the 2025 season, he appeared in 33 league matches, demonstrating consistent performance.

Furthermore, Byun Jun-soo has gained international experience through the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup and the 2025 EAFF E-1 Championship with the national team.

Byun Jun-soo is scheduled to enlist in the military sports unit on the 19th after his player registration, and Jeonbuk Hyundai expects him to grow as a core player of the team after completing his military service.

Byun Jun-soo stated, "I consider it an honor to be a part of Jeonbuk Hyundai," and added, "I will repay with a more mature performance at Jeonju Castle after my discharge."
