The Palbok Art Factory, operated by the Jeonju Cultural Heritage Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi), will be hosting the 8th round of the Palbok Art Factory Creation Studio 8th Resident Artists' Report Exhibition titled "Moments Disappearing, Shapes Remaining" from the 20th of January to the 22nd of February in the A Building 2nd floor exhibition hall, Ipapnamu Hall, and outdoor spaces.
The "Creation Studio Resident Artists' Report Exhibition" is an event where resident artists share their creative process and outcomes from their time at the Palbok Art Factory with the public. This exhibition, now in its 8th year, aims to enhance understanding of contemporary art through the works of artists who work with various mediums such as painting, installations, and videos, while also promoting the role and function of the Palbok Art Factory Creation Studio externally.
The exhibition title, "Moments Disappearing, Shapes Remaining," explores disappearance from different perspectives. The artists express the process of past time, memories, and senses intertwining with the present and being reconfigured in their own language, capturing traces and points of reflection that remain even after disappearance in their artworks.
A total of 7 artists including Kim Won, Park Kyung-jin, Park Sung-eun, Yang Eun-kyung, Yong Ha-hyun, Jang Si-jae, and Jeon Ji-hong are participating in this exhibition. The participating artists will showcase over 105 pieces of work based on the accumulated work during their one-year residency, expressing moments of disappearance and the lingering senses thereafter.
Choi Rak-gi, CEO of the Jeonju Cultural Heritage Foundation, stated, "This exhibition is a platform for resident artists to share the time spent and creative outcomes of the past year at the Palbok Art Factory with the public," adding, "I hope that the artists will continue their creative activities in their respective positions and that their experiences at the Palbok Art Factory will remain as meaningful memories."
