전주시가 도서관과 지역 문화공간을 연계한 ‘전주 도서관 여행’을 한층 확대해 운영한다.

시는 4월 4일부터 11월 14일까지 2026년 전주 도서관 여행 프로그램을 진행한다고 3일 밝혔다.

전주 도서관 여행은 특색 있는 도서관과 문화공간, 지역서점, 정원을 하나의 코스로 엮은 전국 최초의 도서관 여행 프로그램이다. 지난해 2538명이 참여했으며, 참가자들은 전용 버스를 타고 해설사와 함께 전주의 독서정책과 도서관 이야기를 듣는다.

올해는 매주 토요일 하루코스 1회, 반일코스 2회 등 총 3회 상시 운영된다. 특히 독서와 정원 산책을 결합한 신규 코스를 개발해 지역서점과 덕진공원을 포함한 9개 코스로 확대했다.

하루코스는 ‘도서관문화’와 ‘기록문화’로 나뉜다. 도서관문화 코스는 완산·아중호수·서학예술마을·학산숲속시집·책기둥·연화정도서관 등을 잇는 ‘일상수집’, ‘사색화원’, ‘정원산책’ 프로그램으로 구성된다. 기록문화 코스는 완판본문화관과 천년한지관을 중심으로 목판 인쇄와 한지 제작 체험을 통해 여행의 서사와 기억을 남기는 일정으로 운영된다.

반일코스는 도서관과 지역서점을 연계한 체험형 프로그램이다. ‘책연필’과 ‘책담길’ 코스에서는 펜드로잉과 키링 만들기 체험을, ‘책여정’과 ‘책다감’ 코스에서는 서학예술마을·한옥마을·아중호수·동문헌책·다가여행자·학산숲속시집도서관 등을 둘러보며 전주의 다양한 도서관 공간을 만끽할 수 있다.

이와 함께 시는 도서관 대표 3대 책 축제와 연계 프로그램, 특수학급 대상 ‘책누리’, 직장인을 위한 ‘워케이션 도서관 여행’도 별도로 운영한다. 4월부터는 도서관과 서점, 북카페, 숙소 등에 2시간 이상 머무는 체류형 ‘북스테이 도서관 여행’도 신설해 반나절·1박2일·연계 코스 등으로 선택 폭을 넓혔다.

참여 신청은 3월 3일부터 전주시립도서관 누리집을 통해 가능하며, 회당 17명까지 접수한다. 이후 매월 1일 다음 달 프로그램을 신청할 수 있다.

이영섭 전주시 도서관평생학습본부장은 “도서관을 넘어 지역서점과 문화공간을 널리 알리는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “시민과 관광객 모두가 즐길 수 있도록 운영을 내실화하고 참여 대상을 다각화하겠다”고 말했다.

Jeonju City will expand and operate the 'Jeonju Library Tour,' which connects libraries and local cultural spaces.

The city announced on the 3rd that it will conduct the 2026 Jeonju Library Tour program from April 4 to November 14.

The Jeonju Library Tour is the nation's first library tour program that combines distinctive libraries, cultural spaces, local bookstores, and gardens into one course. Last year, 2,538 people participated, riding a dedicated bus to listen to explanations about Jeonju's reading policies and library stories with guides.

This year, it will be operated every Saturday with one full-day course and two half-day courses, totaling three courses. In particular, a new course combining reading and garden walks has been developed, expanding to nine courses including local bookstores and Deokjin Park.

The full-day course is divided into 'Library Culture' and 'Record Culture.' The Library Culture course consists of programs such as 'Daily Collection,' 'Contemplative Garden,' and 'Garden Walk,' connecting places like WanSan, Ajeong Lake, Seohak Arts Village, Haksan Forest House, Book Pillar, and Yeonhwa Pavilion Library. The Record Culture course operates with itineraries that leave a narrative and memory of the trip through woodblock printing and hanji-making experiences centered around Wanpanbon Culture Center and Millennium Hanji Museum.

The half-day course is an experiential program that connects libraries and local bookstores. In the 'Book Pencil' and 'Book Path' courses, participants can enjoy pen drawing and keychain making experiences, while in the 'Book Yejeong' and 'Book Dagam' courses, they can explore various library spaces in Jeonju, including Seohak Arts Village, Hanok Village, Ajeong Lake, Dongmun Old Books, Daga Traveler, and Haksan Forest House Library.

In addition, the city will separately operate programs such as library representative book festivals, special classes for students called 'Book Enjoyment,' and 'Workation Library Tours' for office workers. Starting in April, they have also introduced a stay-type 'Bookstay Library Tour' where participants can stay for more than 2 hours at libraries, bookstores, book cafes, accommodations, etc., with options for half-day, 1 night 2 days, and connected courses.

Applications can be made through the Jeonju City Library's online portal from March 3, with up to 17 participants accepted per session. From the 1st of each month, applications for the next month's program can be made.

Lee Young-seop, Director of the Jeonju City Library Lifelong Learning Division, said, "I hope this will be an opportunity to promote not only libraries but also local bookstores and cultural spaces," adding, "We will solidify the operation to ensure that both citizens and tourists can enjoy it and diversify the target participants."
