제26회 전주국제영화제(공동집행위원장 민성욱·정준호)가 6일 전북대학교 삼성문화회관에서 시상식을 열고 국제경쟁, 한국경쟁, 한국단편경쟁 등 총 17개 부문에 걸쳐 수상작을 발표했다.
올해 영화제는 4월 30일 개막 이후 5월 황금연휴 동안 57개국 224편의 영화가 상영되며 관객들과 뜨거운 호응을 나눴다. 이 중 14편의 작품이 수상의 영예를 안았다. 시상식에는 우범기 조직위원장을 비롯해 심사위원, 경쟁부문 감독 및 배우, 영화계 인사 등 많은 이들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
국제경쟁 부문 대상은 조엘 알폰소 바르가스 감독의 <갚아야 할 빚이 너무 많다>가 차지했다. 바르가스 감독은 “지금 제 기분이 달 위에 있는 것처럼 행복하다”며 “전주국제영화제 관객들의 뜨거운 환호에 감사드린다”고 소감을 전했다. 이 부문 작품상은 천더밍 감독의 <시인의 마음>이, 심사위원특별상은 <저항의 기록>(알레한드로 알바라도 호다르·콘차 바르케로 아르테스 감독)이 수상했다.

<3670>의 박준호 감독은 배급지원상, CGV상, 왓챠상, 배우상 등 총 4관왕에 오르며 두각을 나타냈다. 이 작품의 배우 김현목은 ‘영준’ 역으로 배우상을 수상했고, <그래도, 사랑해.>의 손소라 배우도 배우상의 주인공이 됐다.
역대 최다 출품작(1,510편)을 기록한 한국단편경쟁 부문에서는 황현지 감독의 <겨우살이>가 대상을, 김해진 감독의 <불쑥>이 감독상을, 신율 감독의 <별나라 배나무>가 심사위원특별상을 수상했다. 신 감독은 “영화가 다른 생명들을 살린다는 느낌을 받았다”며 깊은 감동을 전했다.

"Debt Too Much to Pay" Wins Grand Prize in the 26th Jeonju International Film Festival International Competition
The 26th Jeonju International Film Festival (co-executive directors Min Sung-wook and Jung Joon-ho) announced the winning works in a total of 17 categories, including international competition, Korean competition, and Korean short film competition, at an awards ceremony held on the 6th at the Samsung Culture Hall at Jeonbuk University.
This year's festival screened 224 films from 57 countries during the Golden Week holiday from April 30th to May 5th, receiving enthusiastic responses from audiences. Among them, 14 films were honored with awards. Director Park Jun-ho of "3670" stood out by winning four awards, including Distribution Support Award, CGV Award, Watcha Award, and Best Actor Award. The lead actor Kim Hyun-mok won the Best Actor award for his role as 'Young-jun,' and actress Son Sora from "Still, I Love You" also won the Best Actor award.
In the Korean Short Film Competition section, which recorded the highest number of submissions in history (1,510 films), director Hwang Hyun-ji's "Barely Alive" won the Grand Prize, Kim Hae-jin's "Suddenly" won the Director's Award, and Shin Yul's "Star Country, Star Tree" won the Special Jury Prize. Director Shin expressed deep emotion, saying, "I felt that the film saved other lives."
