1986년 전주 지역 고등학생 예술동아리에서 출발한 예술단체 ‘바람꽃’이 창작 교류의 장인 ‘2026 바람꽃 전시회 – 같이’를 2월 9일(월)부터 14일(토)까지 전주영화호텔 3층 갤러리에서 개최한다. 올해로 40년의 시간을 이어온 바람꽃은 이번 전시를 통해 세대와 경계를 넘어서는 예술적 연대의 의미를 시민들과 공유한다.

이번 전시의 주제 ‘같이’는 장애인과 비장애인 예술인이 동등한 창작 동료로서 예술적 공감과 소통을 확장하는 가치를 담는다. 바람꽃은 예술을 매개로 포용과 통합의 장을 마련하고, 지역 문화의 다양성과 연대의 의미를 시민들과 나누고자 한다.

전시는 회화와 디지털 아트 등 복합 매체로 구성된다. 참여자는 강다현(작가), 강용진(필드인테리어 대표), 박영철(작가), 박랑주(작가), 박종갑(경희대 미술대학장), 윤대라(작가), 이은겸(작가), 이일순(작가), 이주리(작가), 임창현(전북교육신문 기자), 전수연(아트마요가아쉬람 대표), 전수영(TOSEM 생활예술인테리어 대표), 최수빈(작가) 등이며, 군산세움자립생활지원센터, 사)장애인인권연대(전북형 권리중심 중증장애인 일자리사업 참여자)가 협력한다.

또한 2월 10일(화) 오전 10시 30분에는 ‘작가와의 만남’ 프로그램을 진행한다. 이 시간에는 장애인 예술인의 창작활동을 직접 듣고, 관람객과 참여자들이 자유롭게 질문과 대화를 나누며 이해와 교류를 확장하는 장으로 운영될 예정이다.

바람꽃은 1986년 전주 지역 고등학생 200여 명이 결성한 예술동아리를 뿌리로 한다. 당시 열악했던 청소년 문화 환경 속에서도 미술·음악·문학·사진 등 다양한 창작 활동을 펼치며 전주 청소년 예술운동의 한 흐름을 형성했다. 2023년부터는 세대를 잇는 정기 전시회를 이어오며 과거의 예술적 열정과 현재의 창작 정신을 연결해 왔다. 바람꽃의 예술 철학은 독립적 창작성, 공동체 정신, 지역 문화 발전, 세대 간 연대로 요약된다.

올해 전시 ‘같이’는 바람꽃의 역사 속에서 특히 포용성과 실험성을 전면에 내세운 시도다. 장애인·비장애인 예술인의 협력은 단순한 참여를 넘어 예술을 통해 사회적 공감을 실천하는 과정이다. 참여자들은 서로 다른 매체와 시선을 바탕으로 ‘같이’의 미학을 풀어내며, 시민들에게 함께 만드는 문화예술의 미래 가능성을 제시한다.

바람꽃 박영철 회장은 “바람이 꽃을 피우듯 예술이 사람과 사람을 이어주는 힘이 되기를 바란다”며 “이번 전시는 장애인 예술인에게는 새로운 창작의 기회가 되고, 관람객에게는 ‘함께’의 가치를 되새기는 시간이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

The art group 'Baramkkot', which started as an art club for high school students in Jeonju in 1986, will hold the creative exchange event '2026 Baramkkot Exhibition - Together' from February 9th (Mon) to 14th (Sat) at the Gallery on the 3rd floor of Jeonju Cinema Hotel. Celebrating its 40th year, Baramkkot aims to share the meaning of artistic solidarity that transcends generations and boundaries with the citizens through this exhibition.

The theme of this exhibition, 'Together', embodies the value of expanding artistic empathy and communication as disabled and non-disabled artists work as equal creative colleagues. Baramkkot aims to create a space of inclusivity and integration through art, and share the diversity of local culture and the meaning of solidarity with the citizens.

The exhibition consists of various media such as paintings and digital art. Participants include Kang Dahyun (artist), Kang Yongjin (Field Interior representative), Park Youngcheol (artist), Park Langju (artist), Park Jonggap (Dean of Kyung Hee University College of Art), Yoon Daela (artist), Lee Eun-kyum (artist), Lee Ilsun (artist), Lee Juri (artist), Im Changhyun (Jeonbuk Education Newspaper reporter), Jeon Sooyeon (Art Mayo Yoga Ashram representative), Jeon Sooyoung (TOSEM Living Art Interior representative), Choi Subin (artist), and the Gunsan Self-Reliant Living Support Center, and the Disability Rights Association (Participating in the Rights-Centered Severe Disability Employment Program in Jeonbuk).

Furthermore, on February 10th (Tue) at 10:30 am, a 'Meeting with Artists' program will be held. During this time, participants will directly listen to the creative activities of disabled artists, and engage in free questioning and conversation with viewers and participants to expand understanding and interaction.

Baramkkot traces its roots back to an art club formed by over 200 high school students in Jeonju in 1986. Despite the poor youth cultural environment at the time, they engaged in various creative activities such as art, music, literature, and photography, forming a stream of youth art movement in Jeonju. Since 2023, they have continued regular exhibitions to connect the past artistic passion with the present creative spirit. Baramkkot's artistic philosophy is summarized as independent creativity, community spirit, local cultural development, and intergenerational solidarity.

This year's exhibition 'Together' is a particularly inclusive and experimental attempt within Baramkkot's history. The collaboration between disabled and non-disabled artists is a process of practicing social empathy through art beyond mere participation. Participants will unfold the aesthetics of 'Together' based on different media and perspectives, presenting the future potential of cultural arts created together to the citizens.

Park Youngcheol, the chairman of Baramkkot, said, "I hope that art will become a force that connects people, just as the wind makes flowers bloom," adding, "This exhibition will be a new creative opportunity for disabled artists and a time for viewers to reflect on the value of 'togetherness'."
