전주의 가을밤이 천년의 역사와 문화로 빛난다.

‘2025 전주국가유산야행’이 오는 26일과 27일 전주한옥마을과 경기전, 향교, 풍남문, 전라감영 등 도심 일원에서 펼쳐지며, 깊어가는 계절에 어울리는 특별한 문화의 장을 선사한다. 이번 행사는 전주시와 국가유산청, 전북특별자치도가 공동 주최하고 문화예술공작소가 주관한다.

올해 야행은 △야경(야간경관) △야사(스토리텔링) △야설(공연) △야시(플리마켓) 등 8개 분야 23개 프로그램으로 꾸며졌다. 그중에서도 경기전 광장은 태조할아버지와 마스코트 ‘야행이’가 성화봉송 주자로 등장하는 ‘국가유산 천년의 행진’으로 화려한 개막을 알린다. 이어 전주 올림픽 유치 염원을 담은 ‘국가유산 풍류 한마당’ 공연이 무대를 수놓으며 축제의 열기를 더한다.

전라감영에서는 인류 문화유산과 올림픽 종목을 결합한 재치 있는 체험 프로그램 ‘전라관찰사의 탄생’이 선보이고, 청년 작가들이 직접 꾸린 ‘국가유산 청년 플리마켓’, 전통 공간에서 하룻밤을 보내는 ‘국가유산 1박 2일’ 캠핑 체험이 마련된다.

또한 어진박물관 앞에서는 후백제 역사문화를 재조명하는 ‘후백제의 왕궁, 야간산성행’ 콘서트가 열리며, 곳곳에서는 스탬프 투어 ‘잃어버린 백제를 찾아서’가 진행된다. 전주향교에서는 유생과 함께하는 색다른 체험극 ‘향교 괴담’, 풍남문에서는 국악과 야경이 어우러지는 특별 무대 ‘뜻밖의 국악’이 시민과 관광객을 맞이한다.

전주시 관계자는 “전주국가유산야행은 전주의 역사와 문화적 특성을 현대적으로 계승·활용하는 대표 축제”라며, “가을밤 물든 전주에서 국가유산의 새로운 가치를 체험하고, 시민의 일상 속으로 스며드는 시간을 기대한다”고 전했다.

Autumn nights in Jeonju shine with a thousand years of history and culture.

The "2025 Jeonju National Heritage Night Tour" will take place on the 26th and 27th in various locations in downtown Jeonju, including Jeonju Hanok Village, Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Hyanggyo Confucian School, Pungnammun Gate, and Jeonlagamyeong. This event, jointly organized by Jeonju City, the National Heritage Administration, and Jeollabuk-do Province, is hosted by the Cultural Arts Workshop.

This year's night tour is composed of 23 programs in 8 categories such as night views, storytelling, performances, and flea markets. Among them, the Gyeonggijeon Square will kick off the festivities with a spectacular opening ceremony called the "National Heritage Millennium March," featuring King Taejo and mascot 'Yahaengi' leading a torch procession. This will be followed by a performance titled "National Heritage Cultural Festival" expressing the desire to host the Jeonju Olympics.

At Jeonlagamyeong, a witty experiential program combining human cultural heritage and Olympic events called "Birth of Jeonla Observer" will be presented. Additionally, there will be a "National Heritage Youth Flea Market" organized by young artists, and a camping experience called "National Heritage 1 Night 2 Days" spent in traditional spaces.

In front of the Eojin Museum, a concert titled "Night Fortress Tour of the Royal Palace of Baekje" will shed light on the history and culture of the later Baekje period, while a stamp tour called "In Search of Lost Baekje" will be conducted in various locations. At Jeonju Hyanggyo, a unique experiential play called "Hyanggyo Ghost Story" will be performed with courtiers, and at Pungnammun Gate, a special stage combining traditional music and night views called "Unexpected Korean Music" will greet citizens and tourists.

A Jeonju city official stated, "The Jeonju National Heritage Night Tour is a representative festival that modernly inherits and utilizes the historical and cultural characteristics of Jeonju," adding, "We hope that visitors will experience the new value of national heritage in the autumn nights of Jeonju and immerse themselves in the daily lives of the citizens."
