전북특별자치도 문화관광재단이 주최하고 서학예술극장이 주관하는 2025 소공연장지원사업 ‘여기, 잇다’ 명인 초청의 밤 ‘놀音’이 오는 26일 오후 7시 30분, 서학예술극장에서 개최된다.

이번 초청 무대는 군산을 비롯한 전북 지역 전통예술 보존과 계승에 헌신해 온 조상훈 명인을 초청해 진행된다.

소공연장지원사업은 지역 공연장에 의미 있는 기획 프로그램을 지원해, 전통과 현대가 공존하는 무대를 마련하고 지역민에게 문화 향유 기회를 확대하는 것을 목표로 한다. 서학예술극장은 올해 이 사업을 통해 ‘여기, 잇다’라는 주제를 내세우며, 전통예술이 과거의 유산에 머무는 것이 아니라 현재의 공간 속에서 지속되고 있음을 보여주고자 한다. 이러한 맥락에서 조상훈 명인을 초청해 그의 예술적 궤적과 지역 내 영향력을 무대에서 조명한다.

조상훈 명인은 전북대학교 한국음악학과 및 대학원을 졸업한 뒤, 원광대학교와 전북대학교, 우석대학교, 국립전통예고, 전통문화고등학교 등에서 출강하며 후학을 양성해 왔다. 나금추, 성운선, 조소녀, 김용택, 김덕수, 이광수 등 명인에게 사사하며 판소리와 전통 타악의 맥을 이어왔으며, 1994년 전북 최초의 전문 타악 그룹인 ‘동남풍’을 창단해 대표로 활동하면서 국내외 공연 활동을 펼쳤다. 그의 공연은 타악을 중심으로 전통예술을 대중과 연결하는 역할을 수행해왔다.

The night of the invited master, 'Nol-eum,' as part of the 2025 Small Performance Venue Support Project 'Here, Connect' hosted by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Cultural Tourism Foundation and organized by Seohak Arts Theater, will be held at Seohak Arts Theater on the 26th at 7:30 p.m.

This invited stage will feature the master Jo Sang-hoon, who has dedicated himself to the preservation and succession of traditional arts in the Jeonbuk region, including Gunsan.

The Small Performance Venue Support Project aims to support meaningful planning programs at local performance venues, create stages where tradition and modernity coexist, and expand cultural enjoyment opportunities for local residents. This year, Seohak Arts Theater has set the theme 'Here, Connect' for this project, aiming to show that traditional arts are not just staying in the past heritage but are continuing in the present space. In this context, the invited master Jo Sang-hoon will be highlighted on stage to shed light on his artistic trajectory and influence within the region.

After graduating from the Department of Korean Music and Graduate School at Jeonbuk University, Jo Sang-hoon has been nurturing his juniors by teaching at Wonkwang University, Jeonbuk University, Useok University, National Traditional Arts High School, and Traditional Culture High School. He has followed in the footsteps of masters such as Na Geum-chu, Seong Un-seon, Jo Sonyeo, Kim Yong-taek, Kim Deok-su, and Lee Kwang-soo in pansori and traditional percussion, founding the first professional percussion group in Jeonbuk, 'Dongnampung,' in 1994, and has been active as its representative, performing domestically and internationally. His performances have played a role in connecting traditional arts with the public, focusing on percussion.
