조각가 김승주의 개인전 ‘피터팬 콤플렉스Peterpan Complex’가 6일부터 16일까지 서울 종로구에 위치한 전북도립미술관 서울분관에서 열린다.
2017년부터 어린왕자라는 주제로 잊혀가는 동심에 대해 이야기를 해 온 김승주(1990~) 작가의 다섯 번째 개인전으로 이번 전시에서는 보다 현실의 삶과 마주한 경계에 대해서 질문한다.

이번 전시는 동심을 떠올리게 하는 이전 작업으로부터 약간 빗겨서 어른이 되기를 거부하는 피터팬처럼 과거의 유토피아적 몽상을 품은 채 사회적 성인이 되는 것에 직면한 오늘날 청년들의 불안정한 모습을 표현했다. 다만 여기서 작가가 묘사하는 피터팬은 단순히 생애주기에 따라 요구되는 사회적 압박에 두려워하는 나약한 인간상이 아닌, ‘미완’의 꿈의 형태를 이어가려는 저항의 몸짓을 뜻한다. 이에 작가는 “어른이 되기를 멈춘 이들의 세계는 풍요로운 유토피아인가, 잔인한 디스토피아인가?”라고 묻는다.
