(사)대한노인회 무주군지회(지회장 이광부) 부설 무주군 노인대학이 지난 3일 제23기 입학식을 갖고 7개월간의 교육과정을 시작했다.
올해 입학생은 총 130명으로, 오는 10월까지 매주 목요일마다 교양상식, 교통안전, 생활예절, 치매예방, 생활체조, 노래교실 등 다양한 프로그램을 이수하게 된다. 현지 견학 등 체험 활동도 병행될 예정이다.
이날 무주종합복지관에서 열린 입학식에는 황인홍 무주군수, 무주군의회 오광석 의장, 윤정훈 도의원 등 내빈과 입학생 100여 명이 참석해 의미를 더했다.
이광부 지회장은 “어르신들이 건강하고 당당한 노후를 누릴 수 있도록 다양한 배움의 기회를 제공하겠다”고 밝혔다.
황인홍 군수는 “도전의 길에 나선 어르신들께 존경의 박수를 보낸다”며 “노인대학이 세대 간 소통과 존경받는 노후의 본보기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
한편 무주군 노인대학은 2002년 설립 이후 현재까지 4,038명의 졸업생을 배출하며 지역 어르신들의 여가선용과 평생교육을 꾸준히 지원해오고 있다.
