전주국제영화제(공동집행위원장 민성욱·정준호)가 한국 민주주의의 회복과 지속을 염원하는 ‘다시, 민주주의로’ 섹션을 공개했다.
전진수 프로그래머는 “2024년 12월 3일 이후, 대한민국의 민주주의는 위기에 봉착했고, 그 혼란과 후유증 역시 얼마나 더 지속될지 가늠이 되지 않는 상황에 놓이게 되었다”라며 기획 의도를 밝혔다. 지난 4일 헌법재판소의 판결에 따라 윤석열 대통령의 탄핵이 결정되면서 이번 섹션은 한국의 민주주의 회복과 지속을 바라는 염원의 섹션이 될 것으로 보인다.
이번 섹션 상영작에는 지난해 12월 3일 계엄 사태를 겪은 한국과 비슷하게 민주주의의 위기를 겪었거나 겪고 있는 세계 6개국의 정치 상황을 다룬 다큐멘터리 6편을 상영한다.
