전북특별자치도립국악원 창극단이 유네스코 세계문화유산으로 등재된 판소리를 연창으로 선보인다.

도립국악원은 9일 오후 7시 30분 한국소리문화의전당 명인홀에서 2025 상반기 <목요상설 가·무·악> 6회차‘8人8色, 소리열전’을 개최한다.

첫 무대는 유희원 단원의 ‘수궁가 中 상좌다툼 대목’으로 공연의 시작을 알린다. 별주부가 토끼를 찾아 나서는 여정에서 처음 마주한 사건으로, 온갖 짐승들이 상좌를 차지하기 위해 다투는 대목이다. 해학과 풍자가 담긴 부분으로 짐승들의 모습을 익살스럽게 묘사하며 상설공연의 서막을 유쾌하게 연다.

두 번째 무대는 이정인 단원의 ‘심청가 中 타루비 대목’이다. 인당수에 빠진 심청을 그리워하며 통곡하는 심봉사의 애처로운 모습을 담은 대목으로, 진계면과 상청의 소리 성음이 조화를 이룬 대목이다.

이어 박태빈 단원의 ‘춘향가 中 옥중가 대목’이 펼쳐진다. 춘향이 모진 매를 맞고 옥에 갇혀 있을 때 자신의 비참한 신세를 한탄하는 노래로, 한없는 애절함과 그리움으로 관객의 심금을 울린다.

네 번째 무대는 이종호 단원이 춘향가에서 백미로 손꼽히는 대목인‘초경이경 대목’으로, 어사가 된 몽룡이 거지로 변장하고 옥에 갇힌 춘향을 찾아가는 내용을 극적으로 그려낸 대목을 들려준다.

다섯 번째 소리는 박수현 단원의 ‘심청가 中 범피중류 대목’이다. 심청이 배를 타고 인당수의 제수로 가는 비극적인 장면으로, 심청가의 백미이자 심청가의 비장미와 서사가 절정에 이르는 대목이다.

다음 무대는 한단영 단원의 ‘흥보가 中 제비노정기 대목’이다. 흥보에게 은혜를 입은 제비가 은혜를 갚을 박씨를 입에 물고 흥보에게 찾아오는 여정을 나타낸 대목으로, 여러 지역과 풍경을 묘사한 사설과 엇붙임으로 장단의 묘미를 살린 특징이 있다. 한단영 단원은 올해 서편제보성소리축제 전국 판소리 고수 경연대회 명창부 대통령상을 수상하였다.

이어 부르는 최현주 수석 단원의‘심청가 中 행선전야 대목’은 심청이 공양미 삼백 석에 팔려간다는 말을 듣고 하늘이 무너지는 설움을 심봉사가 토해내는 진계면의 눈대목이다. 박동진 판소리 명창·명고대회 명창부 대통령상을 수상한 최현주 수석의 탄탄한 소리 공력을 느낄 수 있는 무대이다.

마지막은 이세헌 단원의 ‘적벽가 中 불지르는 대목’으로 장식한다. 주유와 공명의 전략에 의한 결과로 적벽가의 절정을 이루는 대목이다. 조조 군의 전선과 장비가 불타고, 이름 모를 군사들이 죽어가는 장면을 서술한 대목으로 조조가 달아나는 모습을 해학적으로 표현했다.

The Jeonbuk Provincial Government's National Gugak Center Changgeukdan will present the traditional Korean narrative singing genre Pansori, which has been designated as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, through a vocal performance.

On the 9th, at 7:30 p.m., the National Gugak Center will host the 6th performance of the "8 People, 8 Colors, Sounds of Tradition" series as part of the first half of 2025's Thursday regular performances at the Hall of Masters. The first stage will be marked by member Yu Huiwon's performance of the scene "Sangjwadaetum" from the "Sugungga," signaling the beginning of the show. This scene depicts various animals quarreling to occupy the seats as the animals embark on a journey to find a rabbit, setting a lively tone for the performance with humor and satire.

The second stage will feature member Lee Jung-in's performance of the scene "Tarubi" from the "Simcheongga," portraying the sorrowful appearance of Sim Bongsa grieving for Simcheong who has fallen into the water, harmonizing the sounds of Jin-gye-myeon and Sangcheong.

Next, member Park Tae-bin will perform the scene "Okjungga" from the "Chunhyangga," where Chunhyang laments her tragic fate while imprisoned in a cell after being beaten with a stick, evoking deep emotions and longing in the audience.

The fourth stage will present member Lee Jong-ho's rendition of the scene "Chogyeongigyeong" from the "Chunhyangga," dramatically depicting Mongryong disguised as a beggar searching for Chunhyang who is imprisoned in a cell.

The fifth performance will be member Park Su-hyun's portrayal of the tragic scene "Beompi Junglyu" from the "Simcheongga," where Simcheong's boat tragically heads towards the waterfall, reaching the climax of the narrative.

Following that, member Han Dan-young will perform the scene "Jebinojeonggi" from the "Heungboga," showcasing the journey of a swallow repaying a favor to Heungbo by bringing a lady who owes him a favor, highlighting the charm of the narrative through vivid descriptions of various regions and landscapes. Han Dan-young won the President's Award in the National Pansori Masters Competition at this year's Seopjeboseong Voice Festival.

Subsequently, Chief Member Choi Hyun-joo's performance of the scene "Haengseonjeon-ya" from the "Simcheongga" will depict the heart-wrenching moment where Sim Bongsa expresses his grief upon hearing that Simcheong has been sold for three hundred sacks of rice, showcasing Choi Hyun-joo's strong vocal prowess, having won the President's Award in the Pansori Masters and Masters Competition.

Lastly, member Lee Se-heon will conclude with the scene "Buljireuneun" from the "Jeokbyeokga," depicting the climax of the battle at Jeokbyeokga due to the strategies of Ju Yu and Gongmyeong, with the frontline and equipment burning, and soldiers dying, portraying the scene of Jujo fleeing in a dramatic and vivid manner.
