연극인 박규현이 제28회 박동화연극상 대상 수상자로 선정됐다.

(사)한국연극협회 전북특별자치도지회(회장 조민철)가 주최하고 박동화연극상 운영위원회(위원장 안상철)가 주관하는 박동화연극상은, 전북 연극의 중흥기를 일군 고 박동화 선생의 열정과 연극정신을 기리기 위해 제정된 권위 있는 상이다. 시상식은 박 선생의 작고일을 기념해 매년 열리며, 올해는 오는 21일 오전 11시 전주체련공원 박동화 동상 앞에서 진행된다.

이번 대상을 수상한 박규현 연극인은 2002년 창작극회에 입단한 이후 23년간 연극 현장을 지켜온 인물이다. 약 100여 편에 이르는 무대 작업을 통해 전북 연극계에 뚜렷한 족적을 남겼으며, 꾸준한 작품 활동과 예술적 실험으로 관객과의 소통을 확장해왔다.

박 연극인의 진가는 양적 성과를 넘어 연극에 대한 변함없는 열정과 소명의식에서 더욱 빛난다. 그는 초창기부터 현재까지 단 한 해도 빠짐없이 무대에 서며, 전북 연극의 든든한 중심축으로 자리매김해왔다. 단순한 배우를 넘어, 연출·창작·기획 등 전방위적 활동을 통해 지역 연극문화의 외연을 넓히는 데 큰 기여를 해왔다는 평가다.

박동화연극상 운영위는 “박규현 연극인은 전북 연극의 정신을 체현하며, 누구보다도 진정성 있는 자세로 예술과 지역을 위해 헌신해왔다”며 “연극을 향한 그의 꾸준한 노력과 깊은 울림이 박동화 선생의 정신과 맞닿아 있어 대상 수상자로 만장일치로 선정했다”고 전했다.

한편, 박동화연극상은 지난 1997년 제정됐다.

Actor Park Gyu-hyun has been selected as the recipient of the 28th Park Dong-hwa Theater Award.

The Park Dong-hwa Theater Award, organized by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Chapter of the Korea Theater Association (President Jo Min-cheol) and hosted by the Park Dong-hwa Theater Award Operating Committee (Chairman Ahn Sang-cheol), is a prestigious award established to honor the passion and theatrical spirit of the late Park Dong-hwa, who played a significant role in the revitalization of Jeonbuk theater. The award ceremony, held annually to commemorate Park's achievements, took place this year on the 21st at 11 a.m. in front of the Park Dong-hwa statue at Jeonju Cheonryeon Park.

Park Gyu-hyun, the recipient of this year's award, has been a figure in the theater scene for 23 years since joining a creative theater group in 2002. Through nearly 100 stage productions, he has made a distinct mark on the Jeonbuk theater scene, expanding communication with the audience through consistent artistic activities and experimentation.

Park's true value shines not only in his quantitative achievements but in his unwavering passion and sense of mission for theater. He has consistently stood on stage from the early days to the present, firmly establishing himself as a solid pillar of Jeonbuk theater. Beyond being a simple actor, he has made significant contributions to expanding the scope of regional theater culture through comprehensive activities in directing, creation, and planning.

The Park Dong-hwa Theater Award Operating Committee stated, "Park Gyu-hyun embodies the spirit of Jeonbuk theater and has dedicated himself to art and the region with a more genuine attitude than anyone else," adding, "His steadfast efforts and deep resonance towards theater are in line with the spirit of Park Dong-hwa, leading to his selection as the unanimous recipient of the award."

The Park Dong-hwa Theater Award was established in 1997.
